Bolton Wanderers football club has appointed Golley Slater Leeds to work with its commercial and marketing teams.

It is understood Golley Slater will be tasked to create digital, direct and advertising campaigns for the Premier League club.

Mike Needham, marketing manager at Bolton Wanderers, said the agency would "develop several interesting propositions" for the club's fans.

Needham said: "Bolton Wanderers' commercial and marketing teams will be working with Golley Slater to develop and deliver these initiatives, with the first being unveiled in the Spring."

Golley Slater's managing director, Tim Orrell, added: "Golley Slater will be conducting research and workshops with fans and club officials to drive new innovation and to ask the fans their opinions on a whole variety of commercial products. These will then be developed into a strategy and delivered."

It is the first appointment for Golley Slater's specialist sports team, headed up by Orrell, who was previously MD of sports agency Beyond 1 where he worked with clients including Everton Football Club.
