Places Matter!, the Architecture and Built Environment Centre for the Northwest, has selected Reading Room to deliver its next generation website.

Launched in May 2007 and primarily funded by NWDA, Places Matter! is a major programme to drive up the quality of ‘place making’ within the Northwest region. Partnering with RIBA and CABE, they are committed to supporting good design work to provide better homes, buildings and public spaces throughout the Northwest.

Reading Room will create a website to showcase and provide access to a number of the company’s core business strands. Ensuring promotion of high profile research initiatives, impactful training & educational programmes, whilst developing their online advisory service.

It is envisaged that the site will streamline access to the services Places Matter! provides, notably the Northwest Design Review Panel. Consisting of experts from a range of fields, Design Review is a method of improving the quality of new built environment development proposals by offering constructive, impartial and expert advice to developers, planning authorities and regional agencies on development schemes.

Phase one of the new site will launch later this Spring.
