Bell Pottinger North buys PR firm Ptarmigan

Bell Pottinger North has acquired part of the business of Ptarmigan Consultants, the Leeds-based PR firm which fell into administration last week, for an undisclosed fee.

Ptarmigan went into administration on Friday following the ill-health of its founder and managing director, Gordon Forbes.

The company, which will now assume the name Ptarmigan Bell Pottinger, will transfer into the Calls Wharf development in central Leeds from its current office in Kirkstall.

All of its staff were understood to have been made redundant on Friday, but a statement on Ptarmigan's website said the deal had offered them a reprieve: “Most of Ptarmigan's existing client-facing staff and its client contracts have transferred to the new organisation,” it said.

Bell Pottinger North, part of the Bell Pottinger Group, has offices in Manchester and Liverpool.
