TBWA\Manchester in redundancies consultation

TBWA\Manchester is going through a consultation process over the possible redundancy of “a small number of roles” within the agency.

In a statement, the agency's CEO, Fergus McCallum, said this was a result of the difficult financial climate.

He said: “Regretfully we are currently in consultation over the possible redundancy of a small number of roles within the agency. Unfortunately we are not immune to the financial pressures that surround the economy at present and the downward trend in marketing budgets.

“We continue to be successful in spreading our business base and in addition we have already proactively put in place a number of initiatives designed to protect jobs in the Agency.  Both of these factors have helped us lessen the impact for our employees and we will continue to do everything we can to minimise the number of people affected.”

Speaking as one who has been here and has the t shirt, this is a terrible time for all involved especially those who may be going. The good news is that there are still agencies recruiting for staff esp digital and it could be a great opportunity to go client side, change sectors or try freelancing. There is life after TBWA!!

Agreed! I also own that t-shirt like so many others, but that's the nature of the industry sadly. Very few agencies manage to avoid it.

We all like TBWA bashing for personal reasons (me included) but as for the individuals concerned, they should take heart that there is indeed life after TBWA and there are jobs out there!

Good luck all!

Yes, come and join the army of the hastily freelance chasing work that isn't there.

Interestingly they can still afford the over inflated Lewtas salary
