01PROPAGANDA
GREGGS TV AD
Paddy and Greggs - what a brilliant match. Unfortunately that’s as good as it gets. Paddy loves his dog more than anything in the world until his dog eats his Greggs pasty. Then Paddy doesn’t love his dog at all. Comedy genius? No. Just a wasted opportunity.

02THE UNION
STV BINGO TV AD
Anyone who uses a Nolan Sisters track deserves credit. Cheesy soundtrack, cheesy acting, and a cheesetastic idea. Spot on. Uplifting, quirky and just plain good fun. Just like Bingo. And the website sticks - so it works.

03NEWHAVEN
SCOTTISH GOVERNMENT AIRGUN CAMPAIGN TV & PRESS
Great brief. Great opportunity. Not a great ad. Tight budgets aside, it’s a dodgy idea that’s been executed badly. And, what’s with the jam? A real shame as the press and posters are great and stem from a better strategic thought.

04ONE BLACK BEAR
SUPER WHOOPER WEBSITE
whooper.wwt.org.uk/whooper
Wow, a site using Google Earth to allow us to see what the swans can see as they migrate to Iceland. Sounds great. Well, I’m afraid it isn’t. I spent the first ten minutes worrying that a swan was dead as I couldn’t connect to the camera. Technically superb I’m sure but all a little disappointing.

05GOLLEY SLATER BIRMINGHAM
TWYCROSS ZOO TV AD
Why are the children holding pictures? Felt like an ad for Kodak. Can’t help but feel that the team latched onto an executional idea that had no relevance to the product. Having said all that, it did have a certain charm. And my kids loved it!

06POULTERS
MIELE TV AD
I think that this ad is trying so hard to be stylish that it fails to deliver the proposition and becomes unbelievably dull. Not the fitting final ad we were all hoping for from the mighty Poulters.
