New site for SECC gets Blonde treatment

The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) has launched a new website, designed by Blonde.

The Edinburgh based digital agency worked alongside the in-house IT team which delivered the site architecture to create the new site which features a range of new photography by Lesley Jones.

The new site is aimed at event buyers looking for a suitable venue for their conference, exhibition or concert; and event goers looking to purchase tickets and was created due to a need to change the corporate website to better compete in an increasingly competitive market place nationally and internationally within the business to business market.

As well as better functionality, the site also includes interactive mapping of all the spaces within the venue and 360degree photography, illustrating the venue consistently as the place to do business.

Overseeing the project was Sean Murray, head of event marketing at the SECC who started with the venue in August 2008 having delivered the domestic branding and advertising campaign for Glasgow's winning Bid to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Murray commented: “Just now is an exciting time for the SECC on many levels, from the major business we have won to the projects me and my team are working on from a marketing and PR perspective.  The new corporate website and pending ticketing brand have been challenging but equally exciting projects to deliver.”
