Wonder Associates has designed the marketing campaign for the Imperial War Museum North's major new exhibition, Captured: The Extraordinary Life of Prisoners of War.

It is the Salford Quays-based museum's major exhibition for 2009 and shows what everyday life was like for soldiers and civilians captured in conflicts in Europe and the Far East. Visitors can also discover the true stories behind legends like The Great Escape.

Wonder's campaign uses contemporary illustration and typography to depict the dramatic moment of being captured.

The Cheshire design consultancy has created all of the campaign's marketing materials, including invites for a preview; outdoor, online and press advertising; promotional print; direct mail featuring a limited edition escape glider; and in-venue promotions.

Last month it was revealed that Hemisphere, the Manchester agency, designed the exhibition itself.
