Westland Horticulture’s Unwins Seeds account has been handed to TBWA\Manchester following a three way pitch.

The agency will now be tasked with working on all of Unwins Seeds brand communications, for the summer as well as its consumer communications.

The work is expected to make the most of the current environment with an increase in gardening to grow your own fruit and vegetables and an emphasis on saving money.

The agency will work on the account as well as continued with other Westland brands, Resolva and Syngenta, with a TV and press campaign having launched the weedkilling brand, Resolva 24H, in mid April.

Keith Nicholson, head of marketing for Westland Horticulture, explained that the appointed of TBWA\Manchester followed the success of the work on Westland’s Resolva brand campaign and the level of market insight and strategic thinking of the team.

Fergus McCallum, CEO at TBWA\Manchester, added: “A lot of gardeners are following the ‘grow your own’ trend which opens up a realm of possibilities for the brand’s existing and new products. The team here are hugely enthusiastic about this market, which has been evident in the success of past campaigns for other Westland brands such as Resolva.”
