Reports that design agency Thomas Matthews had been appointed to create the signage for the 2014 Commonwealth Games seem to have been premature.
A spokesperson for the City Legacy Consortium which has been recommended as the preferred bidder to build the Athlete’s Village in Dalmarnock, told The Drum that ‘no agency had yet been appointed’.
It had been reported that the consultancy was work with developer David Langdon and architect firm RMJM as part of the City Legacy team which will plan and design champion for the project.
The agency had said that it was looking togrow its Scottish operation as a result of the appointment.
Other companies involved in the City Legacy Team include developers and contractors, CCG, Cruden, Mactaggart & Mickel, and W H Malcolm, bid management, project management and cost management, Davis Langdon LLP engineers, WSP Group Plc, community benefit and town planning advice, Turley Associates, legal advisors, Burness LLP, utilities infrastructure and sustainability, Scottish and Southern Energy and property development advice delivered by JLL.

oh, oh - somebody's in trouble
Design Week also had this story. I've got my name down for a luxury flat in erm...Dalmarnock. For those not from Glasgow, it's a bit like St Tropez but with not quite as many gold bikinis or Pagini Zondas.
