Leeds and San Francisco-based agency Attik has announced that it is set to open a new office in London dedicated to digital design next year.

The agency plans to open the office before Spring 2010 and hire between 7-14 digital designers to be based there.

Jim Kelly was appointed last month by Dentsu, the agency’s owner company to head up both London as Leeds as regional director for Europe.

A creative director will be appointed to head up the London operation, with James Sommerville, co-founder of Attik set to take control of the new office until then.

Somerville has said that the company will be talking to potential creative directors over the next couple of months and expects a managing director to be sought as well.

No one from the Leeds office, which will retain its branding consultancy focus, will move to London

Following the opening of the London office, the company also plans to launch Attik in Tokyo, Japan early next year as it begins to open new offices in emerging markets over the coming years.
