IRN-BRU's Mighty Glass sees The Leith Agency get Medieval

A campaign to promote IRN-BRU’s free glass offer has launched, created by its retained advertising agency The Leith Agency.

The ‘Mighty Glass’ promotion is supported by a Medieval quest campaign featuring Sir Swigs-a-lot which will run across Channel 4 and STV.

Creatives were Mark Davies and Michael Kinlan, while the production company was The Gate.

Felix Massie from Arthur Cox Ltd, directed the advert.

The packaging also has a medieval look as it encourages retailers to embark on a quest for ‘The Mighty Glass’.

Hamish Thomson, senior brand manager for IRN-BRU said: “The 2008 Glass promotion was a huge success. We know this one is bigger and we’re confident that the results will be even better than last year”

Not a fan of this promotional message. Irn Bru is renowned for its outlandish behaviour with previous marcomm material and this, in my opinion just doesn't cut the mustard. Could have and perhaps more importantly should have done better. Does not have the same impact as any of the other adverts. 'AIDA' people! 'AIDA'.

Promotional message? marcomm material? What are you , a book of marketing cliches? And by the way, it's a neat wee ad for a promotion that will work its balls off. It's not trying to be anything else in the great scheme of things. And why anonymous?

Numpty.

A wee bit cheap and nasty. So, no change there then.

I feel the Irn Bru ads have really lost the edge that made them appealing a few years back. This just feels pedestrian.

Ray Doyle , you're truly gifted. All your comments on all the work here have been graced with such wisdom and a great marketing knowledge. Tell us, where else may we hear more sage understandings from you? Do you have a dwelling, deep in the promised land, where we should all make a pilgrimage to hear your sooth? Tell us what should we do now? You are scottish advertising's last hope. It has been prophecised.

Shut it Anonymouse. If you want to see a really good idea check out the Kabloom! stuff on the main page. Ideas like that give hope.

AIDA, marcomm?

Is this a code?

I think the ad works hard. Not easy doing a free glass give away. Like the animation too.
