Richard Jefferson, head of copy at Propaganda is set to join Keltie+Cochrane as its new partner/director.

Jefferson will act as a creative director alongside the Newcastle-based agency’s current owners Jason Cochrane and Ian Keltie and has taken a financial investment as well.

Before joining Propaganda, Jefferson was also head of copy at Drummond Central, and has previously worked at EHS, The Union and Ballantyne Taylor in New Zealand where he was creative director.

He said that despite his departure, the agency would enjoy an ongoing working relationship with Propaganda.

Jefferson explained: “There are some opportunities you don’t turn down. For me, the chance to become a Partner/Director at Keltie+Cochrane was that opportunity. You just have to look at the brilliant work the guys are producing for clients in the UK and USA to realise the incredible potential of the business. And when you consider that they’ve recently won contracts for giants like Lucasfilms and Random House, as well as the BBC, I think it’s clear for everyone to see that this is a great company to be involved with.”

Jefferson will begin his new role at the beginning of September where he will be tasked will pushing the agency’s advertising and marketing and leading the search for new business.

Steve Drummond, creative director for Drummond Central, commented: “I have always admired what Keltie + Cochrane have produced. We've worked with them before. It's great to see they are doing well and we wish Richard and the guys lots of future success.”
