The Leith Agency creates Scottish Government sex health ad

A cinema campaign has been launched by The Scottish Government to encourage young people to talk about sex, created by The Leith Agency.

The campaign promotes the benefits of sharing any concerns and expressing fears about sex between couples.

Chris Scott and David Grenfell were the creatives on the campaign which was produced by The Gate.

The campaign is part of a nationwide drive to challenge the culture associated with sexual health in Scotland, and in turn help reduce the number of unplanned pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections.

The campaign will also run across radio, press and online advertising.

A website, designed by Whitespace, providing information on sex and relationships has also been launched to provide those embarking on new relationships with tips on talking and sexual health advice.

MediaCom Scotland, the Government's retained Mediaplanner will handle the buying for the campaign.

A TV ad, A dull website, and some press ads. Ideal for connecting with today's youth. We are all stuck in a rut, we need to start thinking smarter than this.

“Even though people have the opportunity to watch video on their computers and cellphones, TV accounts for 99 percent of all video consumed in 2008,” Mr. Bloxham said. “Even among the 18-to-24-year-olds, it was 98 percent.”
New York Times - March 26 2009.
Unlike 'down with the kids' Ray Doyle, I think a stand-out TV ad can make a difference. Dunno if this'll do it though, seems a bit tame.

It's a cinema ad Ray. And last time I went to the cinema there were quite a few young people there.
