Strathclyde Police has appointed Rob Shorthouse, head of communications at the Scottish Football Association (SFA) as its new director of communications.

At the SFA he was responsible for the media, design and web teams within the Scottish FA and worked closely with Material Marketing.

Shorthouse joined the SFA in 2007 not long after having headed up the PR and communications for Glasgow’s bid for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

He's been successful with 2014, and he'll get the 'politics' aspects, so it'll be interesting to see what he can do with one of the UK's biggest polis' forces. Interesting times for Strathclyde as a whole, so no pressure!
