An announcement on the future of The Lighthouse, Scotland’s centre for design and architecture, is due to be made at 11am this morning where it is expected that the centre will be placed into administration.

Last night, the board of directors met to discuss the future of the centre which is reported to be £300,000 in debt, a figure which the Scottish Government has agreed to pay, although it will no longer fund the centre.

Yesterday, companies based within The Lighthouse were shocked to hear of the impending closure.
