Scottish & Newcastle UK has launched its biggest Bulmers press and poster campaign created by Frame.

The campaign has begun to roll out this week and build on the theme of 'Squeezing the best out of the British Summer' which it has been running with for the last two years.

Media planning and buying is being handled by MediaVest running across 48 and 96 sheet posters.

A special 3-D poster has been designed to run in cities across the UK including London, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Sheffield and Liverpool.

Doug Cook, brand manager for Bulmers at S&N UK, said, "The press and outdoor campaign builds on the current summer marketing activity for the brand.

"The posters reinforce the proposition of the unpredictable nature of the British summer and how this brings out the resourceful side of our character.

"Through this campaign, our TV advertising and summer experiential activity we hope to encourage the British public to squeeze the best out of what remains of this year's summer!"

Yeah this, the Gary Newhaven thing and the Leith knifey stuff. Isn't that bending the rules a little?

I think these are nice posters and the awards are all the better for having them included. Hey, they're not even public sector!!!

If some of you haven't managed to do anything better during the last 12 months, there's always next year.

Well, at least they've run now. (Which hasn't always seemed to be a prerequisite for victory at other award shows down the years.)

And they've run long before the awards are handed out.

What, then, is the big deal?

I have to agree with my old partner. It's a bit poo and out of order.

Nice work.

Beats the pants off the clunky Magners campaign.

The rest of you can squabble about the awards rules. Who cares....

I like them. Good to see posters that are simple & uncluttered. I'm sure they'll win lots of gongs.

What the f*** are you whinging about with the Scottish Ad Awards entries? I can't speak for this Bulmers work, but Gary Nuhaven and the Leith Knives stuff ran before 24th July 2009. FACT. It's one of the rules....

"Material entered must have been published, displayed, broadcast or mailed 30th June 2008 and 24th July 2009."

William Bodie and Ray Doyle. Just do some better work.

So are you all up in the arms because you're worried these will win? They're nice ads, fair enough. But award winners? (Also, just for the record, the 'chasing the last of the sun' idea was done in a TV ad for Bacardi or something like that).

And, for the record, for Boots summer TV spot done by Mother a year or so ago. Which was beautifully crafted.

Not to say I don't admire the Hedge version of this campaign.

But hopefully jurors won't.

I drive past this campaign poster as I drive to and from my agency everyday. This is pure marketing gold... Love it and its something me and my mates would do.
