Tim Geary has joined Golley Slater to head up its Birmingham office as managing director.
Geary joins the Midland office of Golley Slater after 12 years at McCann Erickson Birmingham where he was deputy PR managing director heading up national PR campaigns for Mercedes Benz, Siemens, Screwfix and Halfords.
Geary takes on the role which was vacated by Nathan Lane who left to head up Leeds PR consultancy Ptarmigan Bell Pottinger in July and will be tasked with developing the PR operation and building up its clients base which includes Skoda, Drayton Manor Park, The Army and Persimmon Homes.
Golley Slater recently announced that it was to overhaul the running of its PR business across the UK following the acquisition of London agency Margaret Street and the appointment of its owner Joyce Lorigan.
Lorigan, said: “PR is a key growth area for us as Group, and we are making a significant investment in both new people and resources to improve our offering. Birmingham has always been one of major regional players within our network and we are confident that Tim’s experience will make a significant contribution to our business.”
Geary added: “It wasn’t an easy decision to leave McCanns after working there for over ten years and I’m proud to have played a part in growing its PR operation. However, I was ready for new challenges and now look forward to contributing to the future at Golley Slater.”
