Manchester City is to launch a new 80-page Collection Catalogue for 2009/2010 and has appointed Outside the Box to handle its design.

Following a five-way-pitch, the Leeds-based marketing agency has been chosen to create the catalogue which is set to feature over 300 pieces of branded Manchester City Football Club (MCFC) merchandise which will be designed to work alongside the club’s online shop and will be made available from 2 October.

Chris Arden, creative director at Outside the Box, explained: “We honed our pitch to link in with mcfc’s brand personality: down to earth, genuine, tenacious, streetwise and self-deprecating – by the fans for the fans.  They recognised that to maximise sales and the database’s potential, our tried and tested direct mail and catalogue experience was needed.  It’s a great project and we’re delighted to be involved.”
