NE1, the company set up to promote Newcastle City Centre, has appointed Robson Brown to aid its marketing communications.
The Newcastle-based agency will work on the ‘Get into Newcastle’ campaign which will launch at the end of September.
Duncan McEwan, creative director of Robson Brown, said: “Our core strategy is to highlight that the City is different for everyone and can fulfil the individual needs of everyone. No two people are the same and how people use the City is also unique. Our campaign encourages people to share what ‘their City’ is to them and what they love about it.”
"Amongst a wide and diverse array of marketing material is an entirely new website designed to be able to individually engage with our audience and actively get them to upload their own content; and by registering their own profiles, to be able to receive information relevant just to them.
"We have also developed a series of TV commercials, each promoting some of the ‘hidden gems’ of the City, and one of which features global superstar, Sting. His willing presence adds huge weight to the campaign and I believe underlines the depth of affection in which our City is held.”

Am i missing something? That is shocking. Bad Imagery, bad use of colours and layout and what in moses colours is going on with that footer?
I wondered what had happened to them. After 'unchained melody' they went quiet for years. Good to see them forging a new career in marketing - good luck to you both.
Just watched the TV ads in the media section. I'm originally from Newcastle and I am embarrassed that this is the film that portrays the city I love. If you are thinking of going to Newcastle please don't base your judgement on this. Cliched, generic, cheesy... Newcastle is NOT like this. They've even put a skateboarder in it - PLEASE!! Everything about this says 'Stock footage' And the music....
Now this is a great ad for Newcastle:

Just watched this ad on your tube i cant agree more with everyone above as someone who lives in Newcastle not a great representation of the city and the colours make it look dark and dreary !
"Whatever you are into you'll find it here in Newcastle."
Aye, I'd like some Premiership football, please. Oh, hang on.
As an exiled Geordie who makes regular return trips I cannot believe this uninspired garbage is representing my home town. Most creative city? Certainly not Newcastle on this evidence.
It's certainly lacking a bit of 'McEwan Magic'.
