The Central Office of Information has promoted Clive Naish to the role of regional news and PR director for its north west operation.

Naish was formerly a senior account manager at the organisation and replaces Eileen Jones who retired last month.

He will lead a team of 11 in Manchester and handle clients including the Home Office, Department for Children, School and Families, Health and Safety Executive and the Highways Agency.

Neil Martinson, COI's director of news and PR, said: "Clive brings to this role a wealth of experience and understanding of the North West and a successful track record of integrating campaigns across the UK. Clive will be seeking to further develop our offer from Manchester for our broad range of clients."

Naish, who has 30 years' experience as a journalist and in PR, said: "COI is entering a new era and I look forward to championing the North West through these exciting times."
