A brochure to promote urban high school Chantry High in Suffolk for 2010-11 has been designed by Spring.

The Southwold-based design agency was appointed by the client which had decided that the use of a ‘conventional’ prospectus would no longer meet its needs.

As the result the client and agency chose focused on two students leaping from the school crest with a background of brainstormed text that initiated the project.

With simple graphic content and glossy photography of the students, the prospectus looks to be visually engaging whilst also including practical elements such as contact information and school guidelines.

Erika Clegg, managing director of Spring, said: “Schools are businesses too and therefore need to differentiate themselves against their competitors.  A brochure is a fabulous way of achieving that difference against other schools.”

James Kindred, creative director for Spring, added: “The challenge of creating a new identity for Chantry was to ensure that we represented the energy and vitality that the school has to offer.  We wanted to revive the elements in the original logo – a design close to students both past and present and create a cover design that represents the urban modern school.”
