The Drum understands that the Edinburgh office of design consultancy Elmwood has closed.
It is believed that most of the staff are to be made redundant with some being offered the opportunity to move to the Leeds office as the company looks to focus its efforts on its international offering in Melbourne, New York and London.
In March of this year, the office’s managing director Jo Coomber chose to leave to return client side to oversee the running of the communications team at Standard Life in Edinburgh. She was not directly replaced.
At the time of writing no one from Elmwood could be reached for comment.

Hopefully they will be stripped of the Commonwealth Games work.
Heard this might be about to happen. Over the last couple of months there definitely has been a big increase in agencies recruiting, so sure it won't take the talented Elmwooders long to find something else.
Why would you hope they were stripped of the Commonwealth Games work (actually, have they even got that, thought they were just down to the last 6) – because they don't have a Scottish office anymore? Most of the shortlist were London-based, so can't see that being a factor.
It's a real shame. Things appeared to be slowly picking up so it is a terrible blow for the Edinburgh design industry. Just goes to show things are not always as they seem. All the best to those who were made redundant.
Its not getting any easier out there, they sadly wont be the last - lay offs, wage cuts and clients wanting more for less the recipe for closure has been set and will continue.
Jingz. Great agency producing some really nice stuff. So much for the recovery of the recession then! Poor commonwealth comment though!
Anon - 08:48 - What an incredibly duff thing to say!
what design agencies have been successful in boltling on a digital offering?
Were Curious Oranj not a design agency that added digital and became Curious Group?
What is there to "get" about digital? Are all digital "specialists" still trying to pretend it's some mystical force only channeled through the chosen few? Digital is a piece of p*ss.
I could not agree more Ashley
