Elmwood to stay in Edinburgh says Sands

Elmwood to stay in Edinburgh says SandsElmwood to stay in Edinburgh says Sands

Elmwood boss Jonathan Sands strongly denies his consultancy is to close in Edinburgh

Speaking this morning to The Drum Sands denied that the rumours of closure were true, but did confirm redundancies at the design consultancy, saying: "Not every member of staff at Elmwood Edinburgh has been made redundant. Things are incredibly tough in Scotland at the moment and stories like this do nobody any favours at all."

It was suggested that Elmwood boss Sands is keen to focus on overseas opportunities for the Elmwood group, through its offices in New York and Melbourne, a similar international expansion strategy that was unveiled by Navyblue in Edinburgh last week.

Sands declined to make any further comment.

Good to hear that it's not true. . Elmwood are a good outfit. It would be a shower of shit to see them go.

Thanks for clarifying this situation Jonathan. I guess we allowed ourselves to be convinced by good sources that their story was correct and the timing made it difficult for us to verify. We got it wrong. We're human and do make mistakes. I'll hold up The Drum's hands on this one. Sorry. All the best for the future to all concerned.

Can I suggest that the other story about its closure is deleted Richard?

Frankly with the attitude of "we're all doomed" I'm not surprised Elmwood are in a state. Cheer up mate, you're in a wonderful business, I suggest you try and enjoy it.
