Lee Cooper appoints 999 to European marketing account
Design / UK
Lee Cooper has appointed the Manchester office of 999 Design Group as its lead marketing agency.
The British-based jeans brand has briefed 999 to "refresh its visual marketing" across its European wholesale and international licensing channels.
It follows the company undertaking a strategic review of its marketing earlier this year and a pitch for the account at its office in Paris in April. Work begins immediately.
Initial projects until the end of the year will see the creation of a suite of sales tools – including product look books and trade catalogues – aimed at supporting the sell in of Lee Cooper’s core Originals line and its higher fashion Red Diamond Lee Cooper range to prospective retailers and distributors worldwide.
Early next year 999 will start work on the marketing for the brand's autumn/winter 2010 collections.
Andy Helme (pictured), the agency's managing director, said: "Lee Cooper is an internationally recognisable brand with a strong heritage and we’re genuinely excited about becoming part of their highly successful team.
“Across the group, 999 has continued to expand its portfolio of high end fashion clients this year, which includes the likes of Radley & Co and the Victoria Beckham brand, through 19 Entertainment. Securing Lee Cooper is another step in the right direction as we look to grow the company in 2010.”
Lee Cooper claims to be the third leading jeans manufacturer in France and the UK and the second largest in Belgium. It competes with American rivals Levis, Wrangler and Lee and has a presence in more than 70 countries.
Once owned by Matalan in the UK, the brand was acquired by Florida-based investment company Sun Capital Partners in 2005.
