Scottish Power set to move £4m DM account to Bright Blue DayScottish Power set to move £4m DM account to Bright Blue Day

The Drum has learned that utilities company Scottish Power is set to move its direct marketing account out of Tangible Communications after five years and appoint Bright Blue Day.

The account is expected to move to the Poole-based agency in the first quarter of next year having been held by Tangible since 2004.

The new agency is expected to handle a variety of traditional direct mail campaign including packs, door drops and page inserts.

The review process was expected to be concluded in July, but has now over run by six months.

The appointment will not affect the client's relationships with ad agency Newhaven, media planner and buyer Feather Brooksbank and digital agency Lewis.

Scottish Power declined to comment at the time of writing.

I'm sure Tangible lost it through no fault of their own. Having it for five years is good going. I doubt BBD will be free to change much.

Posted like a true Tangible employee. "One of the best agencies in the UK is a VERY big claim" – not one based on anything substantial that I can think of - but I do wish them all the best in holding on to their staff. Last thing we need is more jobless agency types hanging around the "forum".

Jobless Bloggs.

Anon 12:32, why are you sure Tangible lost the account through no fault of their own? Because they're Scottish and Scottish agencies should be protected from free market forces?

Clients don't leave, they're lost. This is business and it's commercially short sighted and very naive to view it any other way. Clearly, some of you buy in to the internal spin agency management feed staff to keep them calm and motivated. Re: comment on best agency in the UK, grow up and look around!!
