Esteemed typographer and designer Erik Spiekermann, of Eden Spiekermann, is to chair this year’s judging panel for the Scottish Design Awards 2010, with three other design judges also confirmed.

Spiekermann will be joined on the panel by Karen Welman, creative partner of Pearlfisher, Greg Quinton, creative partner of The Partners and Martin Grimer, executive creative director of Blue Marlin.

Further names will be confirmed for the design panel over the coming weeks while a new set of gaming categories has been introduced to recognise the thriving industry within Scotland.  

The new website for this year's awards will go live in the next week. Deadline for entries to this year's Scottish Design Awards is Friday 22 January 2010.
