It has been reported that less than half of the staff at the BBC asked to move to its newly built headquarters at MediaCity has agreed to move.

A report in The Guardian says that of the 924 members of staff, only 428 people have agreed to relocate from London to the north-of-England.

58% of the sports division has agreed to move in the New Year from London but just 26% of BBC Learning and 31% of the children’s department are set to move.

As well as the staff set to move from London to MediaCity, 2011 will see 800 staff members already based in Manchester, move to Salford.
