Richard Muir, former marketing director for Radio Clyde and Radio Forth has joined Glasgow Chamber of Commerce as commercial director.

Muir left the Scottish radio stations following its acquisition by Bauer last year after 10 years and has now taken up the newly created role which will see him work with Stuart Patrick, chief executive of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce to develop the commercial arm of the business. He will also look to increase revenue streams and corporate sponsorships which an emphases on events.

Muir said: “I’m absolutely delighted to join Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and in turn become part of Team Glasgow. With so much going on in the city at the moment not to mention the 2014 Commonwealth Games on the horizon, this is a very exciting time to be among the heart of things.

“Upon starting my new role and meeting the team it became clear very quickly just how much enthusiasm and energy there is at the Chamber and I’m really looking forward to working on behalf of our membership, further developing our overall offering to them and to the city.”
