Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has unveiled a national advertising campaign to launch its new Transporter van.

The campaign, created by iris, is based around the theme of the 'evolution of van' and will run across press, radio, outdoor, digital, and forecourt media until 31 March.

It is targeted at owners of small and medium-sized businesses and fleets managers and aims to create awareness of the new van and drive sales.

Posters show the transition from the original T1 'split-screen' van which started production in 1950 to today's fifth-generation Transporter.

The first radio ad features the voice of a young child which gradually evolves into that of the actor Ray Winstone.

Iris is also handling below-the-line, point of sale and partnership activity including a tie-in with Wickes stores which will see the chain showcase the van in its car parks.

What! Another 'van' pun...well I never. Thank god the heavy weights from London are here to save us from our uncreative hell! Van-tastic! You can have that one.
