Designer Sebastian Conran and Alex Balfour, head of new media for London 2012 are to headline a conference being held by the Technology Strategy Board next week at the offices of McCann’s Manchester.

The conference will look to highlight the impact that emerging technology is having on marketing, product development and communication and will highlight the role of Plastic Electronics which allows people to create electronic circuits free of components, out of ordinary surfaces.

The Technology Strategy Board will also announce details of a £3million prize fund to encourage companies to develop innovative applications for plastic electronics technology.

The event will begin at 1pm on January 20 at McCann Manchester’s Bonis Hall offices.
