Welsh Brewery chain SA Brain and Co is to launch a digital campaign to coincide with the beginning of the Six Nations Championships.
The ‘Anthem Karaoke’ campaign, devised by Cardiff digital agency Sequence, will look to engage rugby fans and have them sing and record their favourite rugby anthem and upload the result onto its specially created microsite.
The site will go live on 5 February and will offer prizes including rugby tickets and Brains merchandise as incentives.
A public vote will decide which singers are worthy of winning prizes while also electing the overall winner at the end of the Six Nations tournament.
The competition will be marketed through social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook alongside radio station, Red Dragon FM.
Richard Davies, sales and marketing director at Brains said: “The Anthem Karaoke concept is inspired and will provide a huge amount of entertainment for participants and voters alike.”

True Rugby Union fans are of a class that doesn't do Karaoke. The songs that have accompanied the beautiful game of Rugby Union are few and are held in reverance amongst loyal followers like myself. They are songs that are reserved for the passion and acoustics of Twickenham and of Murrayfield. What a terrible idea, I hope it fails. Looking forward to my trip to Twickers for the Ireland game in February.
I am right.
Really? Not even for a Brains T-shirt?
Another so called creative thought from the digital jockeys.
Anon 10:24 - do you drive through council estates with £50 notes dangling from a fishing rod...then as the 'poor fucker' almost reaches it you screech off in your bentley chortling to yourself whilst stuffing faux gras down your gullet?
Why bring class into the fella's post Longstaff? I thought he made a fair enough point.
"True Rugby Union fans are of a class that doesn't do Karaoke"
And come on. Twickers. Definite toff!
I see what you mean
Is top prize a years supply of Chute Lube for post match rugger fun? On a positive note, it's a good way to get a tough crowd online. The boys from the valleys will surely scoop the top prize, although I'd have a go if I thought I could win a Charlie Church, Kat Jenkins scrum down. I would need to borrow the top prize for this though.
Would somebody from the rugby fraternity please explain the bag of shite that is "Swing Low.."
I quite like it and the toff from Twickers misses the point that for every Henry in the stadium there's ten getting pissed watching it in the pub.
Exactly - in Wales rugby fans will be singing in pubs up and down the country, this just tries to tap into that.
Twickers? Pfah.
Egg chuckers... pah,
