A new website for West Mercia Police has been developed with the aim of improving community engagement and to raise awareness of local initiatives.

Created by Liverpool digital agency Rippleffect, it will also look to inform local residents and keep them up to date on the latest campaigns and news.

Launched at the start of January, the site incorporates an interactive map which allows users to locate their nearest police station and view crime figures as well as providing how the area is being policed.

Recruitment information is also made available.

Alec Woolford, technical director at Rippleffect, said: “The brief from West Mercia was to create a well designed and campaign focused site that was fully accessible and easy to navigate. In terms of functionality, the site needed to be search engine friendly and easy for our client to update. We also incorporated an online data collection facility into the design.”
