Recommended Agency Register draws up retail PR pitch list

The Recommended Agency Register is in the process of compiling a pitch list of PR agencies for major UK retailer

The win is just one in a series of pitches the RAR has handled in recent months as clients such as Carphone Warehouse, Highland Spring and Typhoo have used the consultancy to help them find suppliers.

The RAR operation - part of the Carnyx Group which publishes The Drum - positions itself as unique in the market as only agencies that are recommended by their existing clients can be put forward into pitches.

The RAR is using its current contract to remind PR consultancies with retail experience that this might be an ideal time to make sure they are part of the RAR register. All they need to do is log to to its website agencyregister.co.uk and follow the instructions in order to get their registration process under way.

Said director Diane Young: "Agencies should not take registration for granted. In order to pass this quality threshold agencies require high ratings from at least three clients. Out of the 900 which have applied, around 300 have been accepted on to the register."

The registration process is carried out at no cost to the applicant agency.
