A new scheme to recognise the very best in UK events, the UK Event Awards, is now inviting entries from organisers, suppliers and venues.

The UK Event Awards is a new event that aims to recognise excellence in the growing events sector and a new website launched today is inviting all events organisers, suppliers to the events industry and venues to get involved.

UK Event Awards manager Katy Thomson said: "Whether you are staging an annual event, launching a new event or creating a one-off experience, the UK Event Awards is the perfect opportunity for you to demonstrate that you can create events that meet and exceed your clients’ objectives."

Categories extend across the broad spectrum of events and include awards for:

• Best Conference

• Best Exhibition

• Best Product Launch

• Best International Event

• Best Large/Medium/Small Venue

• Best Caterer

The new website can be found at www.ukeventawards.com and this includes a full list of the categories. All events must have taken place between 1st January 2008 and 31st December 2009.

The identity for the UK Event Awards has been created by design consultancy Stand.

Judges for the first UK Event Awards are now being signed up and details will appear on The Drum website in the coming weeks.
