West Yorkshire Police has issued a tender for the design, maintenance and hosting of its website.

A supplier is to be appointed to handle the website design, maintenance and support as well as a transferable, non-proprietary Content Management Solution as well as hosting and an off site back-up system.

The successful agency will begin the contract on 1 July for a three-year-period which could be extended by two years.

Deadline for expressions of interest is 19 March to Sue Dennis.

Wow, the first ever piece of design/marketing work to be put out to tender from WYP. I worked for WYP when I graduated back in the early 90s and the design department was a massive two people strong. You could print the annual report in any colour you liked as long it was two and design and print budgets were tiny. Good luck to whoever is successful. I look forward to seeing the results.

Great way to get 100's of web agencies to respond making the decision even harder and no doubt making a decision based on a companies accounts or the fact that they have worked for a police force before. CLAP CLAP CLAP

They do have a PQQ for this which will wittle things down somewhat. Also its a commercial, competative world out there so i think this is the fairest way. Did you have an alternative way to decide things?
