Dry dog food supplier Wagg Foods is to launch a national TV campaign following a three-year absence from British screens.
The new TV ad, which will go live on 18 February, is part of a £1million marketing support campaign which also includes store activity, sampling and PR.
Running for four weeks exclusively on ITV, the 30 second ads were developed by Leeds-based Banana Kick and humorously communicate the widespread appeal of Wagg products through a series of scenarios in which dogs express their love for Wagg through the medium of tail wagging.
The commercial runs in time to a track entitled Ska Roots composed by Steve Everitt and ends with the line "Wagg; great for pets and pockets".
Tom Page, sales and marketing director for Wagg Foods, said of the return to TV advertising: "Our presence back on TV this year is testament to the brand's continued success and growth, which shows no sign of abating in 2010. The commercial is representative of our core values; great tasting, quality, nutritious food at a great price point."

Great for pets...AND POCKETS. Correct me if I'm right but wouldn't a pocketful of dog food add somewhat to a chap's dry cleaning bill. Or am I just being stupid.
Are you bitter?
This ad looks strangely familiar?
Anyone got a pooper scooper handy?
Can't teach an old dog new tricks. Or can you?
I seem to recall Banana Kick were set up as an agency specialising in the sports sector? So wtf is this?
this is an old ad - I don't mean it's derivative, I mean it's run before...
As a dog lover I like it
So if its run before, what exactly is the story here?
But wait the article says... and I quote... the 'new TV ad'??? Should it not be... 'Client re-runs old ad?'
It's a dog's dinner. Quite literally.
Awesome guys!
Back off I love the ad. It's my favorite.
Rover - West Midlands.
Who bought the campaign?
Some lassie
I don't get it. It's the ad Poulters ran 3 years ago with a different end frame. So what exactly is the story and what is the point? And why did it take them 3 years to produce this? Did Gary only just find it in a filing cabinet?
Guys, you're barking up the wrong tree. This is a great ad.
Maybe it's just a ruff cut?
Maybe they've just been SITting on it for the last 3 years?
