Newspaper industry meets minister to discuss public notice row

Members of the Scottish Newspaper Society today met MSP Jim Mather, as part of an ongoing campaign to stop the Scottish Government pulling public notice advertising out of newspapers in favour of a new web portal.

In advance of the meeting Michael Johnston, the society's president and chief executive of The Scotsman, spoke to Stephen Lepitak about why he believes this is an issue that goes right to the heart of a newspaper’s role in a democratic society.
