A website to promote a series of books which feature codes that can be used online is to be created for Ladybird, part of Penguin Children’s Books, ahead of their launch in April.

Bristol based Beef has been commissioned to develop the site using codes contained within the Puddle the Naughtiest Puppy books, which affords children the opportunity to create their own virtual puppy and also to interact and train it through the site.

The books, by Hayley Daze, aimed at children between ages 5-7, will contain codes which will allow readers to unlock new areas to play within the site.

Upcoming titles include ‘Toyshop Trouble’, ‘Ballet Show Mischief’ and ‘Magic Carpet Ride’.

This is the fourth time that the agency has worked with Penguin, most recently when it created the site for Alex Scarrow’s book, Time Riders.
