The National Trust For Scotland has announced that it has appointed Studio MB to provide graphic design services for the redevelopment of The Robert Burns Birthplace Museum.

The Edinburgh consultancy has been appointed to handle graphic design and artwork based on concepts for the development of several destinations at Alloway, where Burn’s lived and where the museum is based.

The redevelopment work will include the Burns Cottage, the Smallholding, the Commemorative Garden, the link Walkway, a new purpose-built Museum, an area of Gardens around the new museum, the Burns monument, Brig O’Doon and the Auld Kirk.

The advertised value of the contract was advertised as £200,000, although the appointment announcement says that the lowest offer was £49,024 while the highest was £152,140 with four offers received.

According to the award announcement, the award criteria saw quality weighted at 70% and price at 30%.
Work is to be completed by 1 June.
