Relations between STV and ITV are set to become even more strained as new £15m lawsuit is launched this week.

The STV claim is being made over ITV's use of huge audience-pulling shows such as Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor on its channel ITV2, which STV has no stake in and receives no economic benefit.

It is understood that STV will claim for compensation of up to £15m, which is in addition to the £16m that STV is already claiming from ITV for unpaid revenues associated with ITV's online deals with Virgin and BT Vision to show network programmes in Scotland.

Broadcasting regulator ofcom is soon to begin a consultation on ITV’s networking arrangements.

Perhaps if STV stopped outputing rubbish they wouldnt have a problem in the first place.

STV has become a joke over the years with their only meaningful contribution to the network being....wait for it....recommissioning Taggart AGAIN....real innovation!!

Opting out of the Bill etc to run 'more regionally focused programming'.... my arse!!I Are the re-runs of Morse not based in Oxford?...Oh sorry we did have 'The making of the greatest Scot'!!

Our regional station is an embarrassment!
