Zig Zag rolling papers to get Glorious ad campaign
Advertising / England & Wales
Rolling paper company Zig Zag has appointed Glorious Creative to handle its new national advertising campaign after being impressed by the agency's work on the JOB brand.
The Manchester agency's 'Original Double' campaign relaunched JOB - a 170 year-old French rolling paper brand - with posters featuring famous doubles including the Mighty Boosh and Gilbert & George.
Painted by Stuckist artist Paul Harvey, the posters formed part of a campaign comprising national press, underground and targeted media including smoking stands outside bars in cities from Glasgow to Manchester and London.
Andrew Armstrong, managing director of Zig Zag Papers UK – which previously used a French agency for Zig Zag - said: "It’s been a great partnership. Working on the award-winning Job campaign has been brilliant. We’ve been so impressed with JOB that this was a straight-forward decision."
The appointment brings added responsibility for Glorious, given that the Zig Zag brand dwarfs JOB in the rolling paper market. Zig Zag is the second biggest brand in the market behind Imperial Tobacco's Rizla.
"Zig Zag is clearly our major brand," Armstrong said. "You're comparing a brand (JOB) with sales of two million, with one with sales of 100 million (Zig Zag)."
