NorthernNet has appointed Origin as its digital and creative marketing agency following a competitive pitch process.
The Cheshire agency has been briefed to create an online campaign to raise awareness of the project, which offers the creative industries 1gb broadband technology and collaboration events across the north of England.
The aim of the campaign is to encourage members of the north's digital and creative industries to try out NorthernNet's Media Access Bureaux, which provide pay as you go access to editing suites and the super-fast digital network.
Origin's appointment follows last month's announcement that Weber Shandwick North would PR the project.
Mark Bottomley, Origin's managing director, said: "NorthernNet has a fantastic opportunity to give the creative and digital sectors a real competitive advantage - it is a major initiative which will enable the sectors to expand dramatically.
"This is a significant and prestigious win for us - as part of the creative community ourselves, we understand the importance of this initiative. As well as devising an engaging online and social media campaign we will be working with MediaVest on planning and media buying."
