A Manchester designer has started a website which gives creatives the opportunity to showcase and sell their illustrations and designs.
Simon Painter, 31, says he has launched the self-funded sicocreative site to bring together a collective of artists - including illustrators and designers - who can sell their work on t-shirts, prints, skateboards and other formats.
As well as allowing creatives to profit from their work, Painter hopes a community will form on the website. People who register can comment on the work, rate it out of five and recommend it to friends.
Painter said: "I'm a full-time designer and I've been doing my own illustrations in my spare time. I've always thought there may be a lot of local creatives who perhaps work during the day but design or illustrate their own stuff in the evenings or when they get the chance, like I do.
"The website has been two years in the planning and I've been working on it using free time at night. The aim is for it to help raise artists' profiles by giving them the chance to show off and sell their work."
Work from four artists is featured on the site now and Painter said he would add more artists' profiles and work to the site in the coming weeks. Creatives hoping to feature their work can contact Painter through the website.

This is a great idea and the site looks awesome. I heard about sicocreative on twitter and now I am a registered 'Artist'. I love the idea of creating a community of creatives, and being part of something new. Cheers Sico.
