GMG Radio has appointed KLP as the creative agency for its Smooth Radio brand following a four-way pitch.

Krow, CST and Hurrell Moseley Dawson & Grimmer are understood to have been the other agencies involved in the pitch. The account was previously held by Dye Holloway Murray and the review was handled by AAR.

London-based KLP has been given a two-year contract to handle above and below the line creative as well as "non-traditional media".

Stuart Taylor, GMG Radio's CEO who sat on the selection panel, said: "KLP showed a real understanding of the Smooth Radio target audience and clearly have an affinity with the brand and the task in hand."
