Cats Protection charity launches new site with MCM Net
Digital / UK
The charity Cats Protection has worked with Kent digital agency MCM Net to relaunch its website.
The site has been redesigned to mix the charity's corporate branding with more playful elements including hand-drawn sketches. Behind it is a new content management system.
Features of the site include news, an online shop, educational resources, information about the charity and articles on cat adoption and care.
A Cats Protection branch locator has been added to the site and the online donation process has been simplified.
And a special 'Cats for Kids' section has been designed for youngsters featuring a highly-animated design that differs from the look on the main site.
The section gives children access to competitions, downloadable mobile/computer wallpapers, ringtones, creative make-and-do ideas, screensavers, online games and a kids’ news feed, as well as educational resources about cats and how to get involved in supporting the Cats Protection through fundraising and volunteering.
Ian Knapp, executive director at MCM Net, said: "t’s not often you get to work on a site which involves a totally bespoke content management system, a complete graphical redesign, several online games and tons of interactive Flash content (including a multi-track meowing cat band and a flying superhero cat) while also having the collective honour of a giant mutant iguana, an evil mole and an extraordinarily tiny mouse in the Cats for Kids section being named after you."
