Solihull based credit and customer programme LaSer UK, which provides a range of financial services has appointed Willoughby PR to be its media communications agency following a competitive pitch.

The Birmingham agency has been handed the remit to completely overhaul LaSer's external communication, with particular emphasis on the company's online presence and search engine optimisation, which will be conducted by Willoughby PR Digital, the consultancy's digital arm.

LaSer UK is jointly owned by Galleries Lafayette, the French department store and BNP Paribas, the French retail and investment bank and provides a range of financial services products including credit cards, gift cards, loyalty and affinity programmes, data analysis, point of sale finance and insurance services.

Jane Ainsworth, managing director of Willoughby PR said:  "This is a very important win for us.  Financial Services remains a cornerstone of the UK economy which often requires careful and sensitive communication handling.  The sector is also probably the most sophisticated in terms of its use of online marketing to consumers, which offers an exciting challenge for Willoughby PR Digital."
