Whitespace was named as the Scottish Design Consultancy of the Year at yesterday’s  Design Lunch, in association with Eastern.

The Edinburgh-based agency was awarded the main prize, as well as two other awards for Design MD of the Year, awarded to co-director Iain Valentine and Best creative work for its website for paint range, Valtti.

Navyblue was also named Design Consultancy of the Decade, with Douglas Alexander receiving the award.

Meanwhile, D8 was chosen to collect the Peer Poll prize, while One to Watch was awarded to Graphical House following its merger with Skratch Design.

Before the awards were handed out, a forum discussion was held with judges Mark Gorman, Chris Dempsey, David Reid and Paul Condron sharing their thoughts on design from a client’s perspective and the standard of work they saw this year.
