Liverpool’s Cains Brewery has agreed a deal with Tesco which will see its canned India Pale Ale (IPA) become listed by the supermarket chain.

The IPA ale will become a key regional offering for Tesco’s beer range throughout, with the product having been awarded the Assured Food Standards ‘Red Tractor’ logo, awarded to selected products which have undergone rigorous independent inspection to ensure that it meets the highest hygiene, food safety and quality standards.

Cains co-owner, Sudarghara Dusanj said: “IPA is well loved and its great to know that our version will be on dining tables throughout the UK. Getting a nationwide listing means thousands of new consumers will get to taste it.

“It is considered the perfect accompaniment to a spicy curry so Tesco customers picking up a take home dish will hopefully try it out.”
