Passengers at Buchanan Street Underground Station in Glasgow will be presented with the rare site of a Caledonian MacBrayne Ferry docked in the station for the next few weeks.
A mock ferry from the company has been constructed in the main concourse of the station as part of the Caledonian MacBrayne spring advertising campaign which aims to attract visitors to the islands and West Coast of Scotland.
The new TV campaign broke last month, and will now be supported by a series of adverts on underground trains and on posters through out the underground network.
The Bridge handled both the TV campaign and the mock up ferry.
Susan Paterson, marketing manager for CalMac, said: ”We have run a highly successful advertising campaign on Glasgow Underground for the past two years with tremendous feedback from Glasgow Underground users. Glasgow and West central Scotland is a key market for us as many people have links with the islands we serve, and have fond memories of holidays and day trips on our ferries.
“I am confident the combination of the adverts which feature locations across the West Coast and the ‘Buchanan St ferry’ will inspire many travellers to start their holidays with a trip on a CalMac ferry.”

Is it made of cardboard?
The captain or the Buchanan Street Ferry?
Where's the connection with the TV ad? Apart from the big boat of course.
I passed it this afternoon. It looks impressive.
I thought the stuff on the tube where they have changed the inner and outer circle maps was quite clever (if a wee bit graphically clunky)- also the sequential (A2?) posters on the escalator at buchanan street do the trick nicely and brightened up an otherwise dull commute this morning.

As I already said to Frank and Alan, I walked down the travelator at Buchanan street underground and spotted the cal mac poster series “I spy”
Made me smile. Very good and great use of medium.
Nice one.
Made me want to try harder at what I’m doing today.
Great to see a partnership between Calmac and SPT.
Now that's what I call 'synergy'.
Two troubled quangos hit by similar expenses scandals.
Was it a contra-deal?
Surely an April Fools...
...oh, wait. Added on the 31st you say?
