Loughborough University has worked with Leicester agency Rock Kitchen Harris to design and build an online map to help visitors and students find their way around its 437-acre campus.

The virtual campus helps locate departments, lecture theatres, sports facilities and the Students' Union, among other university facilities.

Leon Bayliss, web developer at RKH, said: "Moving to a new city for University can be very overwhelming, especially if you arent familiar with the area and there is nothing worse than having a 9:00am lecture and not knowing where it is!

"The interactive map means that students and prospective students can familiarise themselves with the campus from any computer with an Internet connection. It is very easy to use and provides detailed information as to what can be found on campus and where.
